Reason, by Propellerhead, has come out with 4.0 and it works better then ever. These DVD's cover all the steps you need to get started with setting up your Reason software on your computer then using it to make music. The Reason 4.0 part 2 DVD lessons 1-9, how to set general preferences, audio preferences, midi preferences, how the reason system works, make beats with redrum using .rx files(rex) and create a simple song, then midi setup and concepts, next we take a tour of the reason system. Lessons 10-17, starts out with using the mixers and teach's you how they work next we make up the beat and get into ways to use with redrum module, next it's Malstrom, we take samples and manipulate them with grain table synthesis and use ADSR (Attack, Decay, Sustain, Release) and OSC A and OSC B, this is a great way to change the sample sounds, then we teach you how to use the NN 19, to change a samples pitch, Velocity, LFO, Filter, and much more. In NN XT we use the remote editor, we auto map zones and set sample in keys and edit zones.

Dr. Rex is a cool way to play and chop rex files, made in the program Recycle, we can use the sample in a song and switch the sample parts around in any way we like, change pitch, transpose, decay and more. The Matrix acts like an old analog step sequencer synthesizer. BV 512 Vocoder is a great way to vocode vocal samples but first we need to route the samples to the BV 512 now we'll have some fun with the vocal sample pitching it, make it to a chord and much more.

On the Reason part 3 DVD We start out with 2 long chapters on how to use effects, you'll learn to use Reverb's, A chorus, Delays, Compression and all the effects that come with Reason. Next it's the combinator, which takes all the components of reasons and allows you to combine them to make some great effects. Making a remix can be hard but with regroove you can regroove that track and give it the feel you like and that's just what we do. Subtractor is one of reason's original synths. we load a patch and test all the parameters like the OSC 1 and OCS 2, Filter Envelope, Amp Envelope, LFO 1 and LFO 2, then it's the subtractor. We got 2 chapters on the best way to use the module called Thor chapter 1 is 19 mins. and 3 sec., long and chapter 2 is 15 mins. and 29 sec., next we have a chapter on RPG 8 arpeggiator, and then two chapters of extensive lessons using the sequencer, about 26 mins long, covering every aspect of sequencing with reason.

DVD 4 starts off with our last lesson on sequencing then we discuss how to use your CV module and set it up for great sounds. Next it's Rewire and Rebirth, a great way to use your Reason in any software like Pro Tools, Logic, Cubase, etc. after that we teach you how to sync Reasons to any midi device like and MPC2000XL, or an MV8000 giving you the power to use all your other gear as well. We also throw in some keyboard commands, to help you move as fast as you can. Last we'll show you how to get the best final mix from Reason and make an audio file for what ever you need it for, burn a CD or play in your MP3 player.
