This is our Pro Tools DIGI 002 DVD Part 3. This DVD covers how to mix a song in the pro tools mix window we use a session created by doc which has drums, keyboards, bass, synthesizer, strings, lead vocals, background vocals, etc. We teach you how to setup to do a mix. In chapter 1 we setup for our mix we will add a master fader then we group tracks like all the drums together in a group, the background vocals in a group, the lead vocals and any ad-libs in a group, and any stereo tracks. Next, chapter 2, we add some plug-ins like a compressor and EQ to the kick and snare and we'll put them in the right order We need to get the drum mix very tight so every sound is in its place and the levels are right. In chapter 3 we add the bass its very important to get the proper bass level and sound so sometimes you have to EQ or compress and a bass enhancer plug-in or all three but you have to get a great balance between the bass and the drums because they are the driving force behind the music. Once we have that feel then its time for the keys, synth keys, strings and any other elements to get the music to sit right on the drums and bass. The next chapters cover the most important part of the song the vocals first we get the background vocals to blend right then we get the lead to sit on top of the mix.
